Rough sketch. I tried to get the shadows down but didn’t quite get it. I’m trying to find my style. This is how I draw when I just want to draw a character, but I want to find some sort of continuing style to keep my work consistent. Also I want to become quick with it. I’ll keep roughing it out till I find it.

More messing around with shapes. This time I used 3 standard shapes and a line. I tried masking the standard shapes with each other forming different irregular shapes but I felt the standard square, circle and triangle was more powerful visually.
Figure and other things sketch from blobs. I just start with a thick black, make a blob and use white to make the definitions. Try it.
