I started drawing a random dude and it turned out he looked like Rufio from that Peter Pan Movie where Robin Williams was Peter Pan. Also I put some circuitry on his face. I was thinking about how people were saying they were gonna tattoo electronics into humans in the future. To make things like Google Glasses and Minority Report Interfaces real without all the weird peripherals. And I just drew it on him.

I plan to make hand-drawn art to try and find my own style and voice in art.

My Tumblr From Now On

I saw a Ai Weiwei documentary last night on Netflix. If you don’t know who AI Weiwei is, he is a Chinese artist that deals a lot about the injustices of Chinese politics. I also saw a Wayne White documentary on PBS. Wayne White is mostly known for his puppet work and design on “Pee Wee’s Playhouse.” Both documentaries were great and they influenced my idea of what art is and what it’s supposed to be.

On one hand Art is a commentary of your world. Its about the environment, the social and political state. On the other hand it’s about making something Beautiful and creative.

I’m always in a conflict with what I’m supposed to make as an artist. I’m in battle of what I want my work to represent and what I want to be known for. I’ve already stated many times that I want to do original work. I am currently doing more of it, but my art is still mostly fan art.

After watching the documentaries and looking at all the original work out there from amazing artists. i’ve decided “do whatever I want.” I’ve been thinking about which mashup would be good enough for people to buy and what style would most people like. Right now I feel like experimenting with different media like Wayne White. I feel like sharing my opinion about politics and current affairs through my art. That’s why from now on I’m gonna post more sketches, unfinished work, experiments and actual blog entries like these on my Tumblr.

Before today it was just for advertising what was on my Etsy or Big Cartel (But, if you haven’t checked them out recently I suggest you do). Also check out my Instagram if you have it. I post my most recent sketches and work there. So, now my Tumblr is going to be an actual blog. And I’ll show you what I’m doing not only what I’m selling. Thank you all for the support.
